As I drove the thirty minute commute from the office home this week, I was especially struck by the number of billboards along the expressway. At one point, I found myself literally "ping ponging" from one side of the road to the other reading the excessive messages ranging from health care to car sales to restaurants to....

All of this caused me to reflect on the environment in which these billboards are located. Behind each were trees and fields and a beautiful blue sky. I guess we could say these are God's billboards, His way of reminding us of His presence and care for us.

Just as with the billboards along the highway, often I ignore them or don't even notice they exist. I have to wonder how often I miss the message God puts before me because of my own distractions or focus on other things that occupy my mind. It's a simple thing, but it served to stir my awareness of all that God' places in my path each day.
